Great day for the Irish at City Council

Mairead and I were down at City Hall today to show our support for Councilwoman Sanchez’s resolution in support of comprehensive immigration reform. The resolution, which was co-sponsored by Councilman Jim Kenney, passed unanimously and I’m proud to be living in a city that is so welcoming to new Pennsylvanians.

Councilman Kelly at Tír na nÓg

Last week, the Irish Immigration Center hosted a public meeting at Tír na nÓg in Center City. Over 50 people attended our meeting and we were delighted to welcome Councilman Jack Kelly, who joined us to say a few words in support of immigration reform.

Week of Action for Immigration Reform

From January 10-16, groups all over the Philadelphia will be hosting events to raise awareness of the immigration reform bill currently in the House and to put pressure on our representatives to make 2010 the year for immigration reform.
