Obama's announcement on Immigration

We have quite the week ahead of us.

As I am sure you are aware, President Obama will be making an announcement on immigration measures tonight at 8 p.m. We will be watching live on http://www.whitehouse.gov/live

So what does this mean for our community?

We don't know yet.

We are hopeful that the President will announce measures that will help Irish people, but until we hear what he has to say, we don't know what is going to happen.

What next?

The Irish Immigration Center, along with the Irish Embassy in D.C., the Consulate in New York and the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers, will be working with our lawyers to figure out what the President's announcement means for the Irish - will we qualify? What will we have to do? And so on.

The Irish Immigration Center will be holding an information meeting within a few days to explain the details of Obama's announcement.

So stay tuned!

And keep your fingers crossed.

What can you do?

Please sign up for our mailing list on www.icphila.org and ask your friends to do the same.

We will send out information about the announcement and our own information sessions via email and facebook

As you can imagine, we will not be able to deal with individual queries until we have a better idea of what is going on.

So please, help us by encouraging your friends to sign up to the mailing list and to keep checking the website.

We will update you as soon as we can.

Thanks for your understanding!
