We are delighted to offer a warm and friendly welcome to our community members.  As a resource center we have a space that other organizations can use and a place where we can call home and build relationships that support a vibrant locality.

There are many different ways which we engage with our community and promote healthy, active and enriching lifestyles. For example our senior group, our Biggest Loser weight loss group, along with yoga and Jiving classes. We also cover educational aspects such as mental health, an Irish language group and a genealogy group.

Learn more about our programs below - we’ll see you soon!

“Coming to the IDC once a week is something to look forward to - a free lunch and good craic. We are treated as special guests by these two special “lovely ladies.” This has filled a great void in my life. Go raibh míle maith agat.”

When? Monthly catered luncheons are offered on the first Wednesday of each month at noon. In addition, we also offer a monthly luncheon at the Commodore John Barry Arts and Cultural Center. To register for a Silver to Gold lunch, please email alanna@icphila.org.

Who? Seniors looking to connect with your fellow Irish and Irish-Americans looking to connect with their roots? Everyone is welcome.

What? The luncheons provide a warm and friendly environment for sharing a meal, a smile and a story. They give you an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make a few new ones, and learn more about the many services and benefits that we provide for seniors which include:

  • Transportation from our center to the luncheon at the Commodore John Barry Arts and Cultural Center,

  • Guest speakers presenting information on financial, medical, and social services of interest to the senior community,

  • Day trips to local venues and attractions,

  • Recreation and games such as trivia contests, card games, Bingo, films, and music,

  • Assist with queries related to your Irish pension.

  • Friendly visits.
